C for Charan-sparsh

A pushti devotee seeks to touch the lotus feet of his 'sevya-swaroop' (the idol given to him for seva) daily without fail. This 'Charan-sparsh' is very important because bhakti resides in the lotus feet of Shri Krishna

In the above picture, Lord Shrinathji's lotus feet are depicted, a hand is shown touching them from left to right and then again to left. There is a specific reason why 'charan-sparsh' is done in this particular way. It is said that both 'Bhakti' (devotion) and 'Mukti' (liberation) reside in the lotus feet of Lord Shrinathji.

Bhakti resides in the left lotus foot of Shrinathji, while Mukti resides in the right lotus foot of Shrinathji. For a Pushti devotee, Bhakti is a step ahead of Mukti. A Pushti devotee does not want liberation wherein there is no bliss, but the real bliss lies in Bhakti/devotion, which can be sought only when God himself grants it to him.

Therefore, to seek His grace, the devotee touches both the lotus feet of Shrinathji and especially touches the left lotus foot twice conveying the message that bhakti is twice as important as Mukti.
